Young Sophia Loren started her career in beauty contest "Miss Italia" (1950), while not winning she won title "Miss Eleganza".
She began her professional acting career in epic historical period drama movie Quo Vadis (1951) in uncredited role as Lygia's slave, filmed when she was 17 years old.
