Liza May Minnelli was born in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, United States, on March 12, 1946, is an American actress and singer.
Young Liza Minnelli started her career as a nightclub performer in New York City.
She made her big screen debut at the age of three, in her mother Judy Garland’s musical film In the Good Old Summertime (1949) in a cameo appearance as The Daughter at Ending.
Her breakthrough performance came as Mary Ann "Pookie" Adams in comedy drama movie The Sterile Cuckoo (1969), for which she was nominated for the Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress.
She landed her professional stage debut in Off-Broadway play "Best Foot Forward" (1963) in role as Ethel Hofflinger, at the age of 17.
She got her Broadway debut in musical "Flora Red Menace" (1965) in role as Flora, for which she won a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical, at age of nineteen.
She won the Tony Award for Best Leading Actress in a Musical for her performance as Michelle Craig in musical "The Act" (1977).
