Young Lake Bell first started performing during her years at the Rose Bruford College, London, in theatrical productions.

She made her big screen debut in drama film Speakeasy (2002) in role as Sara Marnikov.

She got her television debut in NBC medical drama series ER (2002) in episodes: "One Can Only Hope" and "Tell Me Where It Hurts", in role as Jody Holmes.

Her breakthrough performance came as Felicia in psychological thriller movie I Love Your Work (2003).
