Young Janet Leigh first started her career in radio programs at the age of 19. She made her big screen debut in Western film The Romance of Rosy Ridge (1947) in role as Lissy Anne MacBean. She got her television debut in CBS panel game show What's My Line? (1954-1961) as Mystery Guest. Janet's breakthrough performance came as Marion Crane in horror film Psycho (1960). She landed her Broadway debut in a play "Murder Among Friends" (1975-1976) in role as Angela Forrester, at Biltmore Theatre.
