Young Ellen Pompeo first started her career as a model in adverts.

She was discovered while working at SoHo Bar & Grill, in New York City (1995).

She made her big screen debut in romantic comedy film Coming Soon (1999) in role as Upset Girl.

She got her television debut in NBC police procedural and legal drama series Law & Order (1996) in episode "Savior", in role as Jenna Weber.

Her breakthrough performance came as Bertie Knox in romantic drama movie Moonlight Mile (2002).
