She got her television debut in ABC legal drama series Judd, for the Defense (1969) in episode "The Crystal Maze", in role as Eileen. Carrie breakthrough performance came as Bettina "Tina" Balser in comedy drama film Diary of a Mad Housewife (1970). She landed her Broadway debut in a play "A Coupla White Chicks Sitting Around Talking" (1981) as a replacement.
