Ann Miller was born in Houston, Texas, United States, on April 12, 1923, was an American actress and dancer. Young Ann Miller first started performing as tap dancer in Hollywood nightclubs. She made her big screen debut in sports drama film Anne of Green Gables (1934) in uncredited role as School Girl. She got her television debut in CBS anthology series Lux Video Theatre (1953) in episode "Three Just Me", as Intermission Guest. Ann's breakthrough performance came as Annie in tragicomedy film Stage Door (1937). She landed her Broadway debut in a revue "George White's Scandals of 1939" (1939) at Alvin Theatre.
