Scarlett Ingrid Johansson was born in Manhattan, New York City, New York, U.S., on November 22, 1984, is an American actress.

Young Scarlett Johansson started her acting career on stage in Off-Broadway play "Sophistry", at the age of eight, at New York's Playwrights Horizons.

She made her big screen debut in comedy drama adventure movie North (1994) in role as Laura Nelson, at the age of nine.

She got her television debut in CBS legal thriller drama series The Client (1995) in episode "Pilot", in role as Jenna Halliwell.

Her breakthrough performance came as Grace MacLean in drama romance movie The Horse Whisperer (1998).

She made her Broadway debut in a play "A View from the Bridge" (2010) in role as Catherine, for which she won the Tony Award for Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Play.
