Warren Mercer Oates was born in Depoy, Kentucky, United States, on July 5, 1928, was an American actor. Young Warren Oates first started performing with school's Little Theater Company. He made his big screen debut in war action film Up Periscope (1959) in role as Seaman Kovacs. He got his television debut in CBS anthology series The United States Steel Hour (1956) in episode "Operation Three R's", in role as Private Lear. Warren's breakthrough performance came as Henry Hammond in Western film Ride the High Country (1962).
