He made big screen debut in drama film Perfect Strangers (1945) in uncredited role as Sailor. He got his television debut in BBC drama film The Governess (1949) in role as Bob Drew. Roger's breakthrough performance came as Simon Templar in British mystery spy thriller television series The Saint (1962-1969).
