Paul's breakthrough performance came as Paul Sunday / Eli Sunday in epic period drama film There Will Be Blood (2007). He landed his Broadway debut in a play "Inherit the Wind" (1996) in role as Howard, at Royale Theatre, at the age of twelve. He made his directorial debut with drama film Wildlife (2018), which was co-written with Zoe Kazan.
