Omar Sharif was born in Alexandria, Egypt, on April 10, 1932, was an Egyptian actor. Young Omar Sharif began his professional acting career in Egyptian films in the 1950s. He made his big screen debut in adventure film Shaytan al-Sahra (1954) in role as Essam. He got his television debut in crime drama film The Poppy Is Also a Flower (1966) in role as Dr. Rad. Omar's breakthrough performance came as Sherif Ali ibn el Kharish in epic historical drama film Lawrence of Arabia (1962). He landed his Hollywood debut in adventure movie Genghis Khan (1965) in role as Genghis Khan.
