Young Matt Walsh first started performing at Annoyance Theater and ImprovOlympic.

He made his big screen debut in science fiction comedy film Abe Lincoln: S*x Alien (1994) in role as The Stranger.

He got his television debut in sketch comedy and variety show Saturday Night Live (1996) in role as Angry Dad / Construction Worker / Hidden Camera Victim.
