He made his big screen debut in science fiction comedy film Abe Lincoln: S*x Alien (1994) in role as The Stranger. He got his television debut in sketch comedy and variety show Saturday Night Live (1996) in role as Angry Dad / Construction Worker / Hidden Camera Victim. Matt's breakthrough performance came as Mike McLintock in HBO political satire comedy television series Veep (2012-2019). He made his directorial debut with comedy movie High Road (2012) also co-wrote and starred as Man, for which won the Newport Beach Film Festival Achievement Award for Outstanding Achievement in Filmmaking Directing.
