He made his big screen debut in crime drama film The Young Man (1994) in role as Lee Han, for which he won the Korean Association of Film Critics Award Best New Actor. He got his television debut in South Korean drama series Dinosaur Teacher (1993). Lee's breakthrough performance came as Woo-in in romantic drama film An Affair (1998). He landed his directorial and screenwriting debut with espionage action thriller film Hunt (2022) also starred as Park Pyung-ho, for which he won the Blue Dragon Award for Best New Director.
