He made big screen debut in romantic comedy film Mary and Joe (2002) in role as Angel. He got his television debut in NBC medical drama series ER (2005) in episode "Here and There", in role as Sgt. Bruce Larabee. Josh's breakthrough performance came as Elder Cunningham in a musical "The Book of Mormon" (2011), at Eugene O'Neill Theatre, for which he was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical.
