He made his big screen debut in crime drama film Throwing Down (1995) in role as Pete Gulley. He got his television debut in NBC police drama series Homicide: Life on the Street (1995) in episode "Thrill of the Kill", in role as Miles and Newton Dell. Jeffrey's breakthrough performance came as Detective Inspector Dave Creegan in USA Network crime drama television series Touching Evil (2004). He landed his Broadway debut in a play "A View From the Bridge" (1998) in role as Marco, at Neil Simon Theatre.
