Gwyllyn Samuel Newton Ford, known as Glenn Ford was born in Sainte Christine d'Auvergne, Quebec, Canada, on May 1, 1916, was a Canadian-American actor. Young Glenn Ford first started performing in school drama productions. He made his big screen debut in drama film Heaven with a Barbed Wire Fence (1939) in role as Joe. He got his television debut in CBS anthology variety series Shower of Stars (1958). Glenn's breakthrough performance came as Johnny Farrell / Narrator in film noir Gilda (1946).
