Heath Andrew Ledger was born in Perth, Western Australia, Australia, on April 4, 1979, was an Australian actor.

Young Heath Ledger first started acting in school theater production, in role as Peter Pan at the age of 10.

He made his big screen debut in Australian family film Clowning Around (1991) in uncredited role as orphan clown.

He landed first his credited role as Toby Ackland in Australian drama thriller film Blackrock (1997).

He got his television debut in Australian children's series Ship to Shore (1993) in role as Cyclist.

Ledger's breakthrough performance came as Gabriel Edward Martin in epic war film The Patriot (2000) opposite Mel Gibson.
