He made his big screen debut in comedy drama film Things Change (1988) in role as Stage Manager. He got his television debut in comedy film Lip Service (1988) in role as Stage Manager. Clark's breakthrough performance came as S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Phil Coulson in Marvel Cinematic Universe. He landed his directorial debut with black comedy movie Choke (2008), also starred as Lord High Charlie, for which was nominated for the Sundance Film Festival Grand Jury Prize - Dramatic.
