Tom Cruise was born in Syracuse, New York, United States, on July 3, 1962, is an American actor.

Young Tom Cruise first started acting during his years at the Robert Hopkins Public School in Ottawa, Ontario in school theater productions.

He began his professional acting career at age of eighteen, he signed with Creative Artists Agency in Los Angeles.

He made his big screen debut in romantic drama film Endless Love (1981) in role as Billy, at age of nineteen, with Brooke Shields.

He got his first big break with role as Joel Goodson in coming-of-age comedy movie Risky Business (1983), opposite Rebecca De Mornay.

Tom's breakthrough performance came as LT Pete "Maverick" Mitchell in action drama film Top Gun (1986) opposite Kelly McGillis.
